DBS to be reprimanded & fined for ‘unacceptable’ outage? Bank assures clients their money is ‘safe’

 

Singapore —  Customers continue to pile on complaints against DBS Bank, Southeast Asia’s largest bank by assets this morning despite the bank’s assurances that their money is safe.

Worse still, as the end of the month nears, which is around the time most people get paid, it also means that bank traffic will definitely go.

Singapore economy to grow more slowly next year

Singapore — The economy is likely to grow more slowly next year than the surprisingly fast 7.1 per cent it managed in the third quarter of this year, and expansion will remain uneven in 2022.

Mr Gabriel Lim, Permanent Secretary for Trade and Industry, said at a virtual press briefing “The recovery of the various sectors of the economy is expected to remain uneven in 2022.”

Singapore — Health Minister Ong Ye Kung set a significant pandemic marker when he flew to Hong Kong to attend the inaugural Asia Summit on Global Health.

He is the first minister from a foreign government to have set foot in Hong Kong since the pandemic began. He said in a social media post on Wednesday (Nov 24), the day that the summit was held, that he was glad to be able to participate along with senior health officials from the region, including Hong Kong’s Chief Executive Carrie Lam.
