Dead dog’s body thrown in trash compactor, dog owners call out town council, but netizens say the dog owners’ are at fault too

A family shared their dismay online after discovering that their pet Shih Tzu Cindy was thrown away in a trash compactor after dying at a void deck in Toa Payoh. The family called on various authorities for an explanation, hoping better protocols would be implemented to avoid such mishaps.

The dog’s owner explained what happened in a Facebook post on May 26, noting that Cindy had passed away “due to misadventure” at the void deck of Block 214 Lorong 8 Toa Payoh. “We were all out for work, so we only knew she was missing after we returned,” said the owner.

One of the more amusing things about writing on a public forum is the fact you will attract attention. Sometimes you get “good” attention. It’s a good ego boost whenever you have people clap for you. A photo of a man seated almost in a squat on top of a mini bike at an intersection got netizens commenting on the risks posed to public safety.

“I gotta buy me one of this. It’s damn fast!” wrote Facebook page Complaint Singapore member Anthony Chan on a photo of the rider looking like he was eagerly anticipating for the traffic lights to turn green, so he could zoom off.
