Singapore — As if implementing a new way of signalling to others while trying to change lanes on the road, a driver was caught on camera opening his car door and flashing the finger at an incoming vehicle.
On Friday (Nov 19), Facebook page SG Road Vigilante uploaded a video taken recently from Woodlands Ave 1.
The video began with the vehicle recording the scene on a dashboard camera approaching the intersection junction.
A Toyota Prius that appears to be operated by a Lalamove courier service provider was spotted changing lanes.
As the cam car got close to the Prius, the driver quickly opened his door and flashed his finger.
“Open door to double up as signal light while lane changing and flipped the bird all while handphone driving,” the page noted.
With over 187,000 views and 700 comments to date, members from the online community urged the cam car driver to lodge a police report.
Although others highlighted that the video did not show the events leading to the incident, netizens responded, noting the man’s behaviour was unacceptable either way.
Based on the footage, the cam car driver did not have any contact with the Prius driver until at the junction.
The cam car driver was behind another vehicle approaching the junction from another street and only came into view with the Prius right when the latter tried changing lanes at the very last second.
The Independent Singapore has reached out to Lalamove for a comment on the incident.
