Netizens debate on whether it’s ‘morally wrong for men to use toilet stalls just to pee’ when urinals are provided

The internet is a funny place where the strangest topics can get debated, including, apparently, the morality of men using a toilet stall just for urinating, as opposed, of course, to using the urinal.

The debate took place over Reddit, where user @tiobanned posted a screen grab of a comment from a person who feels that this practice is morally wrong, and listed the reasons why.

Many Redditors weighed in.

“No it’s not. Some people want to pee in private, some people maybe aren’t sure if they need to do both number 1 and 2,” one commenter weighed in.

“Many guys who pee in a stall sit down and pee because that’s what they do at home because their mother/wife said it’s cleaner.

What’s morally wrong is those people who hog the stalls to vape, use mobile phone (hiding from boss), or goodness knows what else.”

One commenter seemed to think it’s okay, as long as they clean up after themselves.

Some argued that they use toilet stalls because they wipe themselves after peeing, which they can’t do when they use urinals.

Others also argued for better hygiene, especially in a stall with a bidet.

But others said they can do this by simply grabbing paper towels before going to the urinal.

Another Redditor was puzzled as to why peeing appeared to also need rules.

Another said that it’s their mental health condition that causes them to prefer using the toilet stall over the urinal.

In urinals, “the pee just splatter back to your pants i just find that gross,” wrote another.

One Redditor commented, “Well, some men have too many things to carry and using a cubicle sometimes makes sense. Some guys also sit down and pee.”    Screen Shot 2022 11 01 at 9.36.07 AM Another said that the issue has nothing to do with morality. “This has got nothing to do with ‘morals’ but has everything to do with ‘being considerate towards others’ while you exercise your right to your own preferences.

As others have said: cubicle or urinal, clean up if you spray. It’s called being considerate. If you feel dirty to do that, then so will others.

Bottom line: aim with precision. Be clean. Be considerate. Can’t be too much to ask of a human now, can it?”
