A grandson took to social media to expose his grandma, who loved to clean yet had the bad habit of throwing rubbish outside the window.

The grandson who is also a Facebook page Complaint Singapore member said on Wednesday (Aug 31) that his grandma would sweep the house because she liked keeping the house clean.

However, she would discard the collected debris outside the window. The concerned grandson attached a video of his grandma in the act of flipping her dustpan outside the window.

“Warning had been given to her, but she does not listen,” said the original poster.

Members from the online community provided suggestions for the grandson to help address the issue, such as purchasing a robot vacuum.

“Your grandma needs some medical help or counseling. Beyond her control, I guess,” said Facebook user Ashley Tan who admitted that the spotless floor in the video proved the elderly woman loved to clean.

“Good thing granny is not into hoarding. She just needs some help to understand where to dispose of the trash.”

Others suggested buying a dustbin and making it accessible to her, so she refrains from using the window, as this would cause problems with the residents below.

“Maybe you can put a netting just above the unit below and clear it nightly,” suggested Facebook user Alicia Foo.

When netizens advised the grandson to remind his grandma that littering was an offence, the original poster revealed they had tried warning her. “Old folks stubborn and think they are right even after telling her police can catch her for high rise littering,” he added.

“Oh no! I get your frustration. Can you get one of your friends to pretend to be mata and come and scold her?” a netizen wondered.

Meanwhile, others said that the grandson could help her with the dustpan after cleaning, so that he could throw away the rubbish properly. /TISG
