A rather blunt Singaporean advertisement for violin lessons has gained traction on social media, as many seem to be both entertained and impressed by its “real” and “honest” approach to marketing a 20 years course.

IISS-Asia Exec Director, author, and columnist James Crabtree shared a rather impressionable advertisement he spotted in Singapore. The laminated pamphlet advertising a twenty-year violin course caught the attention of many online users because of its blunt, cut-throat, almost satirical tone.

Young girls who’ve always dreamed of being part of “Let(ting) It Go” (and let’s be honest, who hasn’t?) and belting out “Do You Want to Build a Snowman” may soon have a chance to do so as the hit musical, Frozen, is opening in Singapore on Feb 5, 2023.

Auditions for the younger versions of the two lead characters—sisters Elsa and Anna—have been announced, and those who are interested may apply here.

‘Anti-cyclist’ throws thumbtacks all over Yishun PCN, causing punctured tires to around 30 riders

Netizens posted videos and photos of thumbtacks a person scattered all over pavements at Yishun, which caused damage to the tires of cyclists in the area.

This has been going on since Sept 19 (Monday), and around 30 riders have had tires punctured by the tacks and needed repair, according to a post on the Beh Chia Lor – Singapore Road Facebook page on Wednesday (Sept 21).

Uncle hit by car while crossing road at Compassvale, but fellow jaywalkers just walk by without helping

When someone gets hit by a vehicle, it’s a reasonable expectation for most people to stop and help the victim, right? No matter what the circumstances, it’s just the right thing to do.

However, when one man among several jaywalkers was hit by a car at the junction of Compassvale Crescent and Compassvale Street, his fellow pedestrians just went on, without stopping to help him.

KF Seetoh: ‘We want to hire them’ — Urban Hawker in New York offering jobs to migrants deported from other US states

Food guru Kf Seetoh and the eleven Singaporean hawkers he brought over to New York to open Urban Hawker are offering employment to migrants who have been brought in from Texas.

“We want to hire them,” Mr Seetoh posted in an Instagram video on Monday (Sept 19).
