S’pore-M’sia VTL bus tickets are non-transferable, public urged not to buy tickets from third parties, some 8x the price

Singapore — Operators of Singapore-Malaysia bus services are cautioning travellers not to buy tickets for vaccinated travel lane (VTL) services from or through third parties, usually also at grossly inflated prices.

Some of the VTL tickets are being hawked on online platforms such as Carousell for as much as eight times the actual ticket price to desperate travellers.

Spaces for charging electric vehicles misused as parking lots by non-electric ones

Singapore — Even as more spaces are being created in Singapore for charging electric vehicles, non-electric cars are muscling in and using those slots as regular parking lots.

“Something must be done to non-electric vehicles parking at EV (electric vehicle) charging lots,” said a post on the Facebook page ROADS.sg. on Tuesday (Dec 28).

Lee Jinglei seeks to end online drama, with sincere apology from Wang Leehom

Mandopop superstar Wang Leehom’s ex-wife Lee Jinglei “Thunder Goddess” now also compared to a 17th-century shogun in a commentary on the lessons to be learned from the couple’s explosive and messy divorce saga, seeks to peacefully end the drama.

The singer announced the split on Dec 15, which was followed by Lee revelations of Wang’s indiscretions and infidelities over social media.

Loh Kean Yew won S$0 from world championship; 5 S’pore businesspeople raise S$50,000 to support him

Singapore — After discovering that the first Singaporean to win the Badminton World Federation (BWF) World Championships, Loh Kean Yew, did not receive any prize money for his win, five businesspeople in Singapore raised S$50,000 to support the shuttler.

On Dec 19, Loh, who was then ranked No 22 in the world, made Singapore history by upsetting India’s world No 14 Srikanth Kidambi in the men’s singles final at the BWF World Championships in Spain.
