Most Singaporeans felt ‘positive’ about PM Lee’s NDR speech, with GenZ giving the highest marks — YouGov poll

A survey carried out by YouGov regarding people’s reactions to the National Day Rally speech that Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong delivered on Sunday, Aug 21, found that a majority of those polled had a positive response.

Moreover, it was respondents from Generation Z or those who were born between 1997 and 2001, were apt to say that they found the PM’s speech “relevant, convincing, interesting, and enjoyable.”

Letter to the Editor | Govt is right to decriminalise sexual relationships between consenting male adults

Dear Editor,

I read with deep contemplation about the responses, emotional reactions and feedback from the different societal spectrums, amid the current hot topic “Govt to repeal Section 377A, amend Constitution to protect marriage definition from legal challenges” (TODAY, Aug 21).

Although I don’t think it is right to have sex between men in the concept and behaviours of morality, I also recognise or accept that it is right to decriminalise sexual relationships between consenting male adults.

A netizen who came across a Facebook post of an expatriate seeking a native English speaker in Singapore was rather bothered by his post.

An enraged youth arguing with a male teacher has been caught on video, with the boy shouting, “I will end your life right now, man. Shut your mouth b***h!”

The 55-second clip was shared over social media, showing the teacher reprimanding the boy, who brazenly walks right up to him and the two confront each other.
