Man shouts like drill instructor from 6:30am while walking around HDB, resident alarmed

A man was caught on camera walking around a Housing and Development Board (HDB) estate while letting out anguished screams.

“Can’t he exercise quietly?” asked a Facebook group Complaint Singapore member, noting the man’s behaviour lasted about half an hour since 6:30 am that day.

The attached videos showed a man walking around the estate at Serangoon North Ave 1, his hands folded behind his back.

In one of the videos, he would let out anguished screams every few steps.

He continued pacing, rotating his head and shouting in the two other videos posted.

The scene has since caused concern among netizens, who pointed out that he might need help.

“Looks like he going to faint at some point in the video and then he continue shouting,” commented Facebook user Yazid Sky.

She was referring to the moment when the man’s knees appeared to have weakened, and he nearly stumbled to the patch of grass nearby.

“He may be a person with special needs,” said Facebook user Zen Luo while others wondered if this was a sign of Tourette syndrome, which is a condition of the nervous system causing people to have “tics.”

“I had a colleague who shouted occasionally. He didn’t do it on purpose. He can’t control it cause he has a rare disease which is incurable,” added Facebook user Ang Bibi Yacoob.

Meanwhile, others noted that the man’s actions might disturb residents and urged the matter to be reported to the police. /TISG
