Maid filmed abusing elderly man, hitting his head and pulling his arms

A video of a foreign domestic helper abusing an elderly man at a park was circulated on social media.

In a post to the Suara Kita SG Facebook group on Tuesday (Mar 1), the helper was seen abusing the elderly man at an HDB pavilion in Queenstown. The man who submitted the video captioned that at 2.30 pm his wife caught the helper in the act of abusing an elderly man in a wheelchair.

In the video, the helper could be seen trying to exercise with the elderly man at first, but then she was seen pulling his arms and roughly jerking them. She was also filmed hitting the old man’s head.

Along with filming the incident, the wife called the police and notified her husband about what was going on as well.

The husband added that his wife continued filming the helper in the act as she waited for him to arrive. She noted that the helper’s abuse continued for a while, but she was not able to confront the maid because she had her young children with her.

The woman filming then told her husband that the maid and the old man must be nearby and showed him the videos she took. Her husband was able to locate the elderly man and helper at Dawson Place Mall in Queenstown.

When the husband found the helper and the elderly man she abused, he asked members of the public for help to stop her from leaving. However, he wrote that the helper begged him to let her leave.

He added that he did not relent and called both the police and the elderly man’s son to the mall.

“I have no idea how the police will handle this case. Hopefully, this kind of thing would not happen again,” the man wrote. /TISG
