Jung Joon-young and Choi Jong-hoon jailed for gang-raping unconscious women

Jung Joon-young and Choi Jong-hoon, K-pop stars were jailed for several years after a court sentenced them for gang-raping unconscious women and secretly filming their vile attacks.

30-year-old Joon-young is jailed for six years after raping women who were “drunk and unable to resist, filmed them nude while having sex with them, then spread recording on a group chat”, said Judge Kang Seong-soo.

The judge then said they could not imagine the pain the victims might have felt after they found out later.

According to him, Joon-young saw his victims as a tool for pleasure rather than human beings.

Joon-young said that he deeply regrets his foolishness and feels great remorse in his final testimony to the South Korean court. He said from now on he will live in remorse.

The judge also said Choi Jong-hoon who was sentenced for five years behind bars “did not feel remorse after mass-raping drunken victims”.

30-year-old Jong-hoon was formerly part of the pop group F.T. Island.

Both of them laughed about the grim details of their disgusting crimes with friends.

During an investigation into K-pop superstar Seungri, Jung’s videos were uncovered by the police.

The BBC reported he is charged with procuring sex workers to potential business investors.

As part of K-Pop band Big Bang, Seungri was also a member of Jung’s group chat which is allegedly how police uncovered the disturbing footage.

Jung denied supplying prostitutes when he announced he was standing down from the business in March 2019.

He also quit the music industry that month and confessed to having “filmed women without their consent and shar[ing] it in a chatroom”.

Jung said while he was doing it; he didn’t feel a great sense of guilt and he admits his responsibility in all the crimes.

He said that throughout his life he will repent on his immoral, illegal and criminal acts.

He added that he will faithfully cooperate with an investigation by the police and that he will readily accept whatever punishment meted to him.

Three years ago, an ex-girlfriend accused Jung of filming a sexual encounter without her consent but later withdrew the allegation.

Jung asserted that despite her denial, she had agreed for the filming of the act.
