Spotify

The Joe Rogan Experience has been the number one show on Spotify for the longest time. The super popular podcast has however dropped to number two this week thanks to Trevor Noah’s new podcast titled What Now? With Trevor Noah.

The podcast premiered on November 8 and Noah’s first guest was Dwayne Johnson. The podcast made headlines due to the conversation where Johnson said that political operatives had visited him last year about potentially running for the White House.

Rogan and Spotify

Another strong contender in the podcast segment is Jason Kelce’s New Heights. As of today New Heights is in fact at number 1. Serial Productions The Kids of Rutherford County is at number 2 and Trevor Noah’s podcast is at number 3.

According to the New York Times, Joe Rogan’s podcast with Spotify is actually worth more than $200 million. The contract will expire in 2024 and there is no indication about whether there will be a renewal or not.

Donald Trump has been pushing to appear on Joe Rogan’s podcast since July according to a report from The Daily Beast. Apparently Trump started pushing for this after meeting Rogan at a UFC event in Las Vegas.

Trump’s campaign advisors have also told the publication The Messenger that his camp has been repeatedly trying to get on the show.

Trump bigger than media?

“Perhaps the only person bigger in the new media world than Joe Rogan is Donald Trump and the whole idea that the two of them would be together at long last – it would be an incredible audience,” said one Trump advisor.

In the past Rogan has mostly focused on interviewing third party and independent presidential candidates. Rogan said in August that he would like to have Donald Trump on the show to discuss the “deep state”

He said he would ask Trump questions like “What’s the machine like? What’s the deep state really like?”

However Rogan has also reiterated several times in the past that he was not a Trump supporter and that is why he has rejected offers to interview the former President.
