The concerned netizen said that the man still had the energy and responsibility to “survive in this cruel world of ours.”

“Is this what we, children, wants to see in our old and vulnerable parents? Of course not. How I wish that the leaders of our country have the heart to help these kinds of people in our country,” he said.

“I pray that to all dads and grandfathers to be loved and cared for by their own children. To all parents out there, be strong to face this world of uncertainties,” he added with a “self-reflection” hashtag.

Facebook page ROADS.sg shared the post, extending respect towards the elderly man in the photo.

“Remember to tip uncle big big if you see him deliver your food,” added ROADS.sg.

“I (have) seen him in Choa Chu Kang bus interchange many times doing many trips on GrabFood. Admire him as my inspiration. When he can for sure we can,” said a netizen in a comment.

“It’s respectable but also hurts, too,” said a Facebook user.

Another netizen noted that the elderly man would sometimes make long trips. “Saw him push trolley at Lot 1, and fellow grab riders ask him where he (was) sending. Guess what, he say ‘Limbang?’ He walk from Lot 1 to Limbang just to earn a few bucks.” /TISG
