Malaysia – A Facebook post of the touching gesture of a father and daughter in Malaysia is making its rounds on social media and garnering much respect and praise from netizens.

On May 19, Willy Chong posted on Facebook a photo he captured while eating at a Bak Kut Teh shop in Malaysia. The photo featured a father and daughter having a meal with a stranger.

Mr Chong shared how he was touched with what the family did.

“This Indian brother in green is a vagrant,” he wrote. “He stood at the entrance of this Bak Kut Teh shop and stared as he rubbed his stomach.”

The father saw the man and asked if he was hungry. When the vagrant nodded, the father invited him to sit with them and ordered him a meal.

“More importantly, the little girl did not avoid the old vagrant, but insisted that her father give him a cup of Chinese tea,” said Mr Chong in admiration.

“There is compassion in this world. I want to commend this father and daughter. This father is such a role model. This is the right way of bringing up a child. Malaysia is a multi-racial nation. It doesn’t matter what race you are, everyone can co-exist in harmony. This is how Malaysia can progress,” he wrote.

To date, the post has garnered over 44,000 reactions, 1,700 comments, and 7,100 shares. Many netizens praised the man and his daughter for their compassion, which is a respectable example for the world.
