Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are able to overcome the media storm around them and push through troubles that split up his parents Prince Charles and Princess Diana because of one reason, Princess Diana’s butler revealed – they love each other.
Princess Diana’s personal assistant and confidante, Paul Burrell has observed as Prince Harry fought against media intrusion and protected his wife, Meghan Markle who is American-born and biracial.
“They (Charles and Diana) didn’t have what Harry and Meghan have,” Burrell told Reuters, as reported by New Straits Times on Wednesday. “They didn’t have love. And they (Harry and Meghan) love each other. It’s quite obvious when you see them together.”
Prince Charles and Princess Diana, Harry’s parents divorced in 1996 after being married for 15 years. A year later Princess Diana was killed in a road accident while being chased by paparazzi.
61-year-old Burrell frequently comments on Princess Diana and the royal family after leaving the palace in the wake of Princess Diana’s death. He was in New York recently to promote a documentary at a contentious time for Prince Harry.
In an interview with ITV, Prince Harry, 35 said he would “not be bullied into playing a game that killed my mum.”
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are taking legal action against media outlets to protect their privacy.
Prince William and Kate Middleton have been experiencing an easier path from the palace and the press because their future has been predetermined, shared Burrell.
37-year-old Prince William is second in line after Prince Charles, 70 to the throne of Queen Elizabeth, 93. Prince Harry is sixth in line after Prince William’s children.
The royal siblings are nicknamed ‘the heir and the spare’ which Prince Harry hates, according to Burrell.
Prince Harry has also admitted to ITV that there is some distance between the two brothers.
“Harry said that (he and William) are on different paths. I know what he means by that. William and Kate have a map in front of them. They’re headed for monarchy,” Burrell said, adding that the Queen and Charles have left Harry to find his way.
“There’s no guidance. There’s no support. There’s no rulebook,” Burrell said.
To escape the glare, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are considering buying a home in California, according to British media.
“I hope we don’t lose Harry and Meghan (to California) because they are a tremendous asset to the royal family, and to Britain,” Burrell said. /TISG
