Facebook is ready to lend a helping hand to startups in Singapore as well as other parts of South East Asia, with the its new project called Startup Station Singapore. The initiative Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) is Facebook’s partner in this endeavor.

The social media giant announced the initiative on Tuesday, October 2, at the launch of its new Facebook Singapore office, and is scheduled to begin in February 2019.

Startup Station Singapore is a program for empowering startups so they can accelerate their companies, and includes mentorship by experts in the industry, spaces for co-working spaces, as well as training modules, for free.

Links between investors and startups from several countries can be mdae because of the initiative. Startups that take part in Startup Station Singapore will have a number of resources, regulatory sandbox from the IMDA, as well as programs from Facebook itself.

Facebook’s intent is to “support innovative data-driven startups that are developing the next generation of business solutions.”

The program is not only open to growth stage data-driven startups in the country, but to others in South East Asia as well.

The deadline for applications is on 7 December 2018.
