Barbie Hsu latest celeb to split up with partner in recent years

Taiwan — While celebrities like Kim Lim and Rebecca Lim were getting engaged, Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu is getting divorced from her husband, Wang Xiaofei.

Wang is a Chinese entrepreneur and billionaire heir. Barbie Hsu, also known as “Da S” (meaning Big S in Chinese) became famous when she starred as the lead actress in the hit drama series Meteor Garden in 2001.

She has two sisters, and she is the middle child. Her youngest sister, Dee Hsu (also known as “Xiao S”) is also in the entertainment industry. Taiwanese media outlet Mirror Media broke the news of Barbie Hsu’s divorce.

The couple shares two children together, a daughter and a son born in 2014 and 2016 respectively. Barbie Hsu and Wang have been married for more than 10 years, and they married each other in 2010 after going out for just 20 days. Besides Barbie Hsu and Wang, in recent years there has been a few other celebrity couple splits.

In South Korea, Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo, known popularly as the Song-Song couple, called it quits after a short marriage. They met as co-stars on the drama Descendants of the Sun. After meeting onset, they went public with their relationship in July 2017 and got married three months later. The couple got divorced two years later.

Another celebrity couple who broke up was Goo Hye Sun and Ahn Jae Hyun. According to Goo, she claimed that Ahn made “frequent and intimate calls” to other women and also said that he had to divorce her because her nipples were unsexy. The actress also claimed that Ahn was having an affair with another actress. As for Ahn, he remained mostly silent about the split.

Malaysian singer Fish Leong called it quits with Malaysian entrepreneur Tony Chao after nine years of marriage. Leong had hinted on social media that their relationship was on the rocks. Her divorce from Chao had affected her friendship with Christine Fan. The couple shares a 5-year-old son, Anderson. They both hold custody of Anderson. /TISG
