Actors who play Jughead and Betty split up in real life

Riverdale co-stars Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart have called it quits after two years of dating.

Playing onscreen couple Jughead and Betty, the pair met on the set.

Days after the duo attended Entertainment Weekly’s Comic-Con party in San Diego last Saturday it has been confirmed that they are no longer dating.

Us Weekly reported that they kept their distance from each other and mingled with fellow Riverdale cast members but were rarely seen together.

Insiders confirmed the news and the 26-year-old former Disney Channel star was overheard telling a friend the news.

The reason behind the breakup is not known yet.

Sprouse and Reinhart have not commented publicly about the split but the “Hustlers” actress posted her love for her cast mates on Instagram.

“Comic Con always reminds me how lucky I am to be part of something so special and thankfully it’s with these beautiful people,” the 22-year-old captioned an Instagram photo. “Thanks for coming out to see us this weekend.”

Riverdale finished filming its fourth season in July and season three had a cliffhanger with regards to Jughead.

So how does the split affect the onscreen romance? We will have to watch season four to find out.
