A viral video of a man impersonating a police officer and threatening to arrest a group of Filipino women for drinking at their barbecue after 10.30pm at Pasir Ris park has been circulating social media.
The video posted earlier today, received 22,000 views, and almost 400 shares.
In the video, the man can be seen wearing a black printed t-shirt and a cap and is also holding a packet of cigarettes in his hand.
In the beginning of the video, one of the women said, “We never do anything wrong”.
To which the man replied, snapping his fingers, “you talk to me in this way? I am a police officer, you talk to me like that? I can bring you into the jail like that”.
He continued, “Alright? But because today is Hari Raya, I’m going to let you guys go. But if it was any other day I’ll make sure you guys will go in”.
The man continued harassing them and claiming that they were misbehaving. When the group decided to leave, he stepped in and said, “I’m giving you guys a chance, but if the next police officer comes, it is not my problem”.
“Look how rude you are, when I’m talking you’re eating”, he said.
Towards the end of the video, the man got more verbally abusive, even asking the men to drink by themselves, but to refrain from bringing the women along the next time.
I’m not a torturous person who wants to send someone to jail for no reason. No. It’s Hari Raya, I understand. But don’t talk to me with attitude. Simple as that.
He continued, “We are Singaporeans, this is our country we love our country. A lot.”
To this, one of the women apologised and he said, “I’m not asking for your apology, you all have fun, do whatever you want to do”.
The video ended with the man realising that a video of him was being taken.
Netizens were outraged at the behaviour of the man.
