A couple’s terrifying rules that they demand their wedding guests adhere to on their big day has gone viral after an email listing the rules was leaked online.
The email, supposedly sent out by the couple’s wedding coordinator, began “I am reaching out to all confirmed guests to do a finally (sic) head count and go over some rules and regulations of the wedding day.”
The rules start out innocuously enough – guests are asked to arrive 15-30 minutes before the ceremony begins.
Second, guests are strictly prohibited from wearing white, cream or ivory. These colours are traditionally avoided by wedding guests so as to avoid matching with the bride.
While it is odd to prohibit guests from wearing certain colours so strongly – the email says “please DO NOT” wear these colours” – the rest of the demands are downright bizarre:
- Please do not wear anything other than a basic bob or ponytail
- Please do not have a full face of makeup
- Do not record during the seramony (sic)
- Do not check in on FB until instructed
- Use #*********** when posting all pictures
- DO NOT TALK TO THE BRIDE AT ALL.
- Everyone will toast with Remy. No acceptance (sic).
- Lastly must come with gift 75$ or more or you want (sic) be admitted in.
The second-to-last rule probably means that all guests should toast the bride and groom with the relatively more pricey Rémy Martin’s cognac – a hard liquor (brandy) instead of lighter beverages like champagne that is served and used to toast at most weddings.
Redditors responding to the leaked email noted that the email was riddled with spelling and grammar errors.
Pointing out that a real wedding coordinator would most likely not misspell the word “ceremony” as “seramony”, netizens opined that it is probably the bride who sent out the terrifying list of rules to her guests, worried that someone might upstage her on her big day.
Needless to say, netizens roasted the bride (or her wedding coordinator if one really exists) for the crazy list of demands:
