North Korea says Trump has declared war and will shoot down US fighter jets

North Korea said US President Donald Trump has declared war and it will shoot down US warplanes that skirt its territory even if they are outside its airspace.

This is the latest in the escalation between the US and North Korea’s war of words that may slip into a deadly military conflict.

This came after Kim Jong-un’s Foreign Minister said that Trump has declared war on North Korea following his statement that the North Korean leadership will not be around much longer.

‘Trump claimed our leadership would not be around much longer. He declared a war on our country,’ said Ri Yong-ho, the North Korean Foreign Affairs minister.

Ri Yong-ho insisted all options are on the table for Pyongyang and that his nation now reserves the right to shoot down US planes even if they are not in Korea’s airspace.

The official, talking to reporters in New York, said: ‘The whole world should clearly remember it was the US who first declared war on our country.

‘Since the United States declared war on our country, we will have every right to make countermeasures, including the right to shoot down United States strategic bombers even when they are not inside the airspace border of our country,’ the Mail Online reported.

Last week Trump made one of the most aggressive speech ever at the United Nations, saying he will annihilate North Korea and its leadership.
