A little less than a week until Echelon Asia Summit 2017 and we’re looking forward to meeting the community again. We know that there is a lot going on and we want to make sure you don’t miss out on the exciting things lined up for you, so we have here a quick list of exciting things happening at the conference.

1. Talk about solving real-world problems

We’re kicking off the conference with two fireside chats to talk about the hows and whys that startups need to know to build relevant products. We start off with a chat with Steve Leonard, Founding CEO of SGInnovate, as he speaks about building globally relevant deep tech companies. This is followed by a chat on how solving real world problems and building Unicorns go hand-in-hand with Atsushi Taira, Chief Growth Officer of Mistletoe.

2. Learn more about the role of culture

Find out what role culture plays in success and how to make it last. Zoho Director of Engineering Rajendran Dandapani will talk about time-proofing your startup’s culture, while Skyscanner Director for Growth Yara Paoli will talk about embracing a culture of growth for success.

3. A quick chat with a robot

Yes, you read that right. We will be talking to Softbank Robotics’ NAO, a totally programmable customer service, humanoid robot at a fireside chat on Day 2. Let’s hear what it has to say, yeah?

But before that, we’ll be discussing Artificial Intelligence with Smartcow CEO Annabelle Kwok, Cocoon Capital Managing Partner William Klipgen, and SWAT CEO and Co-Founder Jarrold Ong, in a panel moderated by KeyReply Head of AI Research Lim Swee Kiat.

4. Learn how others did it

It is always a good thing to learn lessons from others, which is why we’re looking at how our neighbors are dealing with the startup revolution. In a panel discussion moderated by Topica Edtech Group Senior Director Bobby Liu, speakers Anthony Chan (Senior Manager, Partners Team of Cyberport) and Balasubramaniam A (Funding Ecosystem Head of the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation) will talk about how Malaysia and Hong Kong are building their respective startup ecosystems. Later on, we’ll hear from Nobuaki Kitagawa, Managing Director & CEO of CyberAgent Ventures China, as he speaks about what startup founders and investors can learn from China’s business ecosystem in a fireside chat moderated by Novus BridgeWorks Managing Director William Koo.

5. Interact with the best of Asia’s startups

We doubt that you’ll miss them but we’re saying it here anyway – take time to visit the exhibitors’ booths and meet the individuals, startups, and groups bringing Asia’s startup ecosystem at the forefront of innovation. Here’s a quick list, plus another quite longer list, of exhibitors you’ll see there.

6. Echelon Asia Summit Ladies’ Night

It is a truth universally acknowledged that Wednesday night is Ladies’ Night. We’re not really sure where it started, but it’s a somewhat global tradition we’re happy to get on. So, after the conference on Day 1, #ECASIA2017LADIES (that’s our real hashtag, by the way) are invited to head on to Monti at 1- Pavillion for drinks and conversation. No speakers, no agenda, just an evening where the ladies can talk about their experiences, create meaningful connections, and generally interact with a community of women. This event is in collaboration with SheWorx, SheSays, Startup Asia Women, Women in Tech, Female Founders, and Crib.

Over 800 startups went through a careful selection process until we’re down to the selected TOP100. Wanna know who these startups are? Here are the first, second, and third batches announced. Watch out for the announcement of the last two batches this week.

8. Pitch inside an actual Mercedes Benz car

STARTUPAUTOBAHN Singapore – a corporate accelerator programme  powered by Mercedes Benz focussing on mobility, AI, AR/VR, digital marketing, and IOT – is looking for startups to join their second batch. The programme aims to support and develop startups within the company and help them develop to a real-life market fit with a significant customer base to apply their ideas on. Startups are invited to pitch their idea/product at the conference to get a chance to join the programme. Interested? You can still register here.
