Hours after SMRT announced the deaths of its staff, the Workers’ Party offered its deepest condolences to the families and friends of the two SMRT maintenance workers, Nasrulhudin Najumudin and Muhammad Asyraf Ahmad Buhari, who passed away in the accident.
“We are greatly saddened that the two workers had died in the line of duty,” said Dr Daniel Goh, media chairperson of the political party.

“This accident tragically highlights the hard work that maintenance and service workers put into making our public transport system operate efficiently. Thank you and please keep safe,” he added.
