‘It’s not the best job in the world but…’ — Netizens advise 15-year-old who applied for part-time job at McDonald’s

A young person turned to Reddit for tips after having applied for a job at fast-food giant Mcdonald’s.

u/NewUserHaveMercy asked if they had made a wise decision in getting work at such a young age, and local Redditors were happy to oblige.

“I wanted to do something productive over the holidays and thought it was a great opportunity to learn from one of the most successful fast food chains in the world,” the post added.

The post has since gotten dozens of comments, with many netizens praising the 15-year-old for getting a head start so young.

Several netizens warned that customers can sometimes be rude and should not take their rudeness personally.

“Great for learning the value of money, and building character and work ethic,” wrote another. 

Another commenter who had also worked at McDonald’s in their teen years said they learned a lot from their experiences there.

“It’s also likely you’ll be more appreciative of people in the service line as you move on in life to other jobs because you can empathize with what they’re going through,” one netizen pointed out.

Others chimed in with what working at McDonald’s is like, with both good and not-so-good things to say.
