Woman says, though she and her boyfriend of 6 years have BTO together, she’s not in love with him

A woman who was with her boyfriend for six years now comes out to say that she is not in love with him and wonders what to do.

In an anonymous post to popular confessions page SGWhispers, the woman wrote that she was in a long-term relationship with her boyfriend who is planning to take her to look at wedding rings soon.

She also added that they have a BTO flat together already.

“But throughout all these years I have the nagging feeling that I don’t love him in the romantic way. He is my best friend and it kind of all started because I wasn’t able to say no and hurt him. I care about him and he is important to me but throughout all these years there were times I always wondered how it would be if I was with someone else and been attracted to other people”, the woman wrote.

She said she read somewhere that her wandering eye would pass as long as she did not act on it. However, for her, “it keeps coming back, these thoughts and feelings. It has been so long and I’m so used to spending time with him, doing the things I do for him. I feel so bad now if I tell him how I feel, I wasted 6 years of his time”.

She added that she did love her boyfriend, just not romantically. Because of their BTO flat, everything was complicated, and she was confused as to what she should do.

“Whatever I choose just doesn’t feel right. Whenever I think of this I just tell myself that these thoughts will go away eventually but now it’s been 6 years and it’s still there. What should I do?” she asked netizens.
