Yet another individual was caught on camera reserving a parking slot personally, this time a woman who acted like she had the right to do so.

A video of the incident was shared on Facebook on Saturday (Sept 24), garnering over 97,000 views and shared on various profiles such as ROADS.sg.

It appears that the driver of the black vehicle was unable to park fully as a woman wearing a pink dress shirt was standing in the way.

The driver eventually got off and began recording the incident. The woman was on the phone, and she looked at the driver before saying, “Car coming.”

The man asked her to repeat what she had just said, but the woman turned her back to the camera and focused on her phone.

The woman ignored the man as he repeatedly asked, “Can you move?”

“U think u stand in the lot I care ah?” the video caption reads.

The video ends without much information about whether the driver got the spot or moved on.

“If it’s me, I reverse, block the entire road and wait all the cars horn don’t move until she gives up the lot,” commented Facebook user Peter Toh.

“Cause definitely, the car is coming and want to park in the place, and she might be unable to do so until she gives up that lot. Or let until people come over to take a lot of her pic or talk to her or police come and talk.”

This is not the first time people used themselves to chope a parking slot. A woman got aggressive as she reserved parking space for her husband at Marina Bay Sands earlier this year.

“To all Singaporeans or foreigners or whoever that’s driving in SG out there, remember, doing what this lady did is not right,” commented a netizen on the incident.

“If you’ve missed the opportunity to get the lot, just accept it and move along. You can’t use a ‘human’ to chope a lot. You think it’s like hawker centre where you put tissues to chope?”

Members from the online community keep reminding motorists that a public car park is a first-come-first-served basis for vehicles. People should refrain from reserving the slots as it is neither fair nor right to book public spaces./TISG
