On Monday (Aug 1), Tunku Temenggong Johor, Tunku Idris Iskandar Ibni Sultan Ibrahim, the third child of the Sultan of Johor, posted a video on his Instagram account of a BMW 3 Series bumping into his car outside some shops in Johor Bahru.

The driver of the BMW, who was en route to a parking space, did not bother to even check on the prince’s Honda.

He can be seen via CCTV footage walking away rather cluelessly from the scene after he parked.

But it seems highly unlikely that he was unaware that he hit the Honda, as the impact on the prince’s car was not insignificant.

Plot twist: the BMW is registered in Singapore, which now means it’s a minor international event. (We’re joking, of course, but the driver should have at least owned up to the damage he caused.)

An official report has been filed over the incident, and police are looking into the matter.

The prince’s post includes a photo of the damage to his car and another of the BMW with its full licence plate.

He coolly captioned it with a single word, “Perangai” which means attitude, referring, no doubt, to the driver who walked away from damaging the prince’s car.

His vehicle is not your everyday Honda, but a Honda e, a fully electric hatchback that he started posting photos of last year. At present, one can only buy this vehicle in Japan or parts of Europe.

One report says that there are no plans of selling this model in Malaysia as yet.

Another says that there are only four Honda e’s in Malaysia and that the model costs RM 210,000 (SGD 65,000).

Repairs to the prince’s car are likely to cost a pretty penny, therefore.

The incident is said to have occurred at Jalan Serampang at 2:17 on Monday afternoon.

Johor Bahru Selatan District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Raub Selamat has confirmed that a report regarding the incident has been made.

In one of his latest IG Stories, the prince wrote “Reported. Sorted. Move on.”
