Son Dambi & Lee Kyou Hyuk tie the knot

Singer Son Dambi and speed skating coach Lee Kyou Hyuk got married on May 13. They had a small private ceremony due to Covid-19 with only their closest friends and family in attendance.

Son Dambil updated her Instagram account the night before her wedding, writing, “I am so happy. My wedding presents.” The singer uploaded the many gifts she received from friends celebrating her marriage.

The couple started dating last year and announced their upcoming nuptials in January 2022. The duo is also currently appearing in SBS’s variety show, Same Bed Different Dreams 2. During a recent episode, they revealed that they had actually dated each other 10 years ago.

Son said she met Lee while shooting for another variety show by SBS titled Kim Yuna’s Kiss and Cry.

Son is a singer, actress, and entertainer who began her career as a solo singer in 2007. She made her acting debut in the 2009 Korean drama Dream with Joo Jin-mo and Kim Bum. Her portrayal in Dream, as the Taebo instructor Park So-yeon, won her the SBS Drama Awards New Star Award.

She first shot to fame after she appeared in a commercial for an MP3 player alongside Poppin Hyun Joon.

Prior to her first appearance, MSN Japan made a video documentary capturing her pre-debut training and rehearsals, which attracted 480,000 visitors in five days.

People then began calling her the female version of South Korean singer Rain.

Lee, 44, is a retired long track speed skater who is well known for his 500 and 1,000-meter achievements. He was the World Sprint Speed Skating Champion in 2007, 2008, 2010 and 2011 and the World Champion for the 500 meters in 2011.

He is one of four men to have won the World Sprint Speed Skating Championships four times. He also won four gold medals in the Asian Winter Games aside from numerous South Korean titles.
