“Hi, I’m available for rent for CNY for just S$50 a day,” wrote TikTok user @wayneeee, advertising his rent-a-boyfriend services.
His services include posing as the client’s boyfriend, “so they stop asking why u still single,” driving the client around to bainian (to wish someone a Happy New Year in Chinese) and collecting angbaos together.
The TikToker, who noted in his video that he “was serious” with his offer, added he could even deal with people “who keep annoying u,” or play blackjack, poker, baccarat mahjong with the client’s relatives. “MJ 3/6, 5/1, no prob,” he said.
The rent a boyfriend can take nice OOTDs (outfit of the day) for the client, among other more detailed tasks such as “feed you bwa kwa and pineapple tarts, make sure your hotpot shabu meat is cooked fully before you eat.”
Of course, he can also peel prawns or crabs for you, so you won’t get your hands dirty. How thoughtful.
