Ong Xavier shares photos from TV series ‘The Lying Theory’ on social media

Singapore — Local actor Ong Xavier starred as Larry in the latest rendition of the TV drama The Lying Theory. It is the remake of Lauren Teo’s 2013 comedy-drama of the same name.

The Lying Theory is set in a modern-day local culinary school, and it is a story of the world’s most mistrustful girl and the world’s most honest boy.

The new version of the show is in Mandarin, and it is directed by Yen Lim.

According to a synopsis of the show, the main character Claire has a superpower, which is the ability to tell if someone is not telling the truth. She does not trust anyone easily until her boss Lynette told her that she was going to meet someone special. The question is, can she trust that person?

And here was the director’s statement for The Lying Theory:

The Lying Theory is a series that shows how a wounded child can overcome her fears and mistrust, and how she comes to terms with it and have faith in life again. While one cannot stop all the lies we may be subjected to, we can learn how to adapt to our situation. Is it a curse or a blessing? This show reminds us to embrace our fears and take a leap of faith — because there is still trust and love in our life. /TISG
