Singapore — A girl with a male best friend polled the internet on her activities with her friend and whether she was ruining his relationship with his girlfriend.
In an anonymous post to popular confessions page NUSWhispers, this girl wrote that she has a male best friend who she would meet on a daily basis. “We go out on weekends, study together although we’re from different courses, eat lunch/dinner/supper together almost every day when I’m out without fail”, she wrote in her post on Nov 6.
She added that despite many mistaking her for being in a relationship with the guy, she said she was not his girlfriend, and explained that he was already in a relationship with someone else. The girl added that she knew the guy for about 2.5 years, while he had been with his girlfriend for about 1.5 years.
The girl then wrote: “Recently, there are also instances where we made out and hung out very intimately, hugging and all. He and his girlfriend only meet every few weeks or less, they almost seem like an internet couple because they are not intimate”.
“Am I a homewrecker? Is he emotionally/physically cheating on his girlfriend?” she asked. Netizens were very clear in their answers to her, adding that because of the way she was with her friend, she definitely was crossing boundaries.
In a previous confession on the page, a boyfriend who casually has flings with other women despite being in a monogamous relationship asks netizens if they think he is cheating.
“I don’t get why can’t I sleep around when I’m in a relationship. After all, there’s no emotion involved,” he wrote in a Facebook post on NUSWhispers on Saturday (Apr 3).
He added that he had been using Tinder, a dating app, even after he got into a relationship with his girlfriend.
“I mean don’t y,all wanna explore around before you settle down?” he wrote. /TISG
