Singapore ― On Oct 6, 2021, a compromised document that allegedly contains sensitive information on streaming platform Twitch was leaked by a user, 4chan. The torrent file amounted to 125 GB in size.

Video Games Chronicle (VGC) reported that besides the platform’s source code, user payout information was also divulged in the leak.

Controversial Singaporean streamer, KiaraaKitty’s earnings were included in the leaked information. Based on the leaked documents, KiaraaKitty allegedly raked in about USD122,586 (SGD166,413) from her last two years of streaming activities on Twitch.

Nevertheless, the site that highlighted the figure has been made unavailable at the time of writing.

Kiaraakity (real name Cheng Wing Yee) has amassed about 222,000 followers on Twitch where she invites viewers into her daily life.

To access the streamer’s old videos, viewers can subscribe to her channel for USD4.99 (SGD6.77) a month. Twitch streamers can also earn money through user donations or by receiving virtual cheers (Twitch Bits) from the chat, reported Mothership.sg.

Mothership.sg has also reached out to Kiara about this issue for updates.

According to VGC, the 4chan user who uploaded the document wrote that they wanted to “foster more disruption and competition in the online video streaming space” as their community is “a disgusting toxic cesspool”.

The user also said, “Jeff Bezos paid $970 million for this, we’re giving it away FOR FREE.”

Twitch has also confirmed via a tweet that the leak is “authentic,” and that it is currently “working with urgency” to uncover the extent of the breach.
