In an Instagram post, they wrote that after many months of reflection and internal discussions they have made a transition this year and they hope to carve out a progressive new role within this institution.
The couple wrote about their intention to step back as senior members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent while continuing to give full support to Her Majesty The Queen.

Hours after the couple’s Instagram post, Buckingham Palace issued a statement saying it is a complicated situation. The unsigned Royal Communications statement says the discussions with The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are at an early stage.
