Park Yoo Chun ordered to pay woman in sex assault case

Fallen South Korean K-Pop star Park Yoo-chun is ordered by a court in Seoul to compensate a woman who claimed the former boy band member sexually assaulted her.
Park, popularly known as Micky has to pay 100 million won (SGD115,000) to the victim by the Mediation Centre of Seoul court.
She is among one of four women who reported Park for alleged sexual assault in 2016.

The order, which was first delivered after a mandatory mediation last month, came into effect after a two-week grace period and carries the same weight as a court ruling.

This is not the first in Park’s legal troubles.

Through a separate investigation in connection with South Korea’s explosive Burning Sun sex scandal Park and his former fiancée Namyang Dairy Products heiress Hwang Ha-na, were arrested for illegal drug use after testing positive for methamphetamine.

The scandal involves big names in K-pop including Big Bang singer-songwriter Seungri, former CEO of YG Entertainment Yang Hyun-suk, singers Jung Joon-young, Roy Kim, Choi Jong-hoon and several others.
