Shannon Lee, the daughter of late Bruce Lee, expressed her annoyance at Quentin Tarantino for not reaching out to her regarding the portrayal of her father in the upcoming movie “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.”

“Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” is a tribute to Hollywood’s golden age and casts a large ensemble of iconic movie stars and multiple storylines, including scenes with Bruce Lee, played by actor Mike Moh.

Ms Lee told Deadline that the director did not consult her even though he contacted others such as the sister of slain actress Sharon Tate who will be played by Margot Robbie.

“With Tarantino’s film, to not have been included in any kind of way, when I know that he reached out to other people but did not reach out to me, there’s a level of annoyance,” said Ms Lee.

“If they contacted me, I could be completely unreasonable and make all kinds of ridiculous demands, but they don’t know that I’m not going to do that,” she added.

Ms Lee is in charge of her father’s estate after the kungfu icon passed away at age 32 in 1973 during his prime.

Adding that she is not a control freak, Ms Lee only wants to ensure that any project is “in alignment with my father’s legacy and with my family’s legacy.”

“We can be as creative and as free and as awesome as we want to be, but if you come to me and say: ‘I want to make a buddy cop movie where Bruce Lee goes around giving people the death touch and scaling walls like Spider-Man’, I’m going to say no.”

“Let’s just see how the universe deals with this one,” said Ms Lee.
