A recent article published by Business Insider Singapore revealed the possibility of the new iPhone having the capability of reverse wireless charging.
Prolific Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kup along with Japanese Apple blogger Mac Otakara predict that the 2019 iPhone would allow users to charge other wireless charging devices such as the Apple Watch, the new wireless charging AirPods, and even other iPhones and smartphones.
Otakara’s blog report cited its insider information from a Chinese supplier that also provided the reverse wireless charging technology for Samsung’s recent Galaxy S10 smartphone – yes, Samsung already has it.
Reverse wireless charging allows you to charge other devices by simply putting it on the back of your smartphone.
With the Samsung’s Galaxy S10, users are able to charge the wireless Galaxy Buds earphones using the smartphone, a feature which analysts are predicting would be present in the new Apple AirPods to be launched this week.
This tech was first seen on Huawei’s Mate 20 Pro with Samsung following in close pursuit.
According to the blog report, Integrated Device Technology is responsible for Samsung’s Galaxy S9 and S10’s “Wireless PowerShare,” the technology that allows for the industry’s most advanced and integrated wireless charging solutions.
Other 2019 iPhone predictions made by Ming-Chi Kuo include a frosted glass casing for the back, an upgraded Face ID, triple-lens camera system, bigger batteries, and the retention of the lightning ports (no transition to USB-C).
Otakara has a reliable record of predicting Apple’s next steps. With the backing of Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, this rumour might possibly become a reality when Apple announces its 2019 iPhone sometime in September.
