SingPost, the country’s provider of local and international postal services, has an image problem, due to, well, its well-publicized delivery problems.

The most recent of these is when a local business owner paid SingPost a whopping S$ 7,000 to distribute flyers, and when the flyers remained undelivered, caught the service in an outright lie when it insisted that it had indeed delivered the flyers.

Fortunately, the business owner, a certain Mr. Tan, had the photographic evidence proving otherwise.

Tan filed a police report against SingPost, who then meted out disciplinary measures on the errant staff.

SingPost, however, received an enormous amount of flak online for the incident. It issued an apology, citing holiday busyness as a reason for the slack, which did not go over well with netizens either, who said that poor delivery is not a new problem with SingPost.

Enter Member of Parliament Lee Bee Wah. Apparently, the MP for Nee Soon Group Representation Constituency (GRC) took it upon herself recently to pay SingPost a visit in order to talk to the personnel concerning ‘delivery issues’, which she posted about on her Facebook account.

Lee wrote that the staff assured her “that they are taking measures to maintain their service standards.”

The MP also included photos of her visit, wherein she posed with various SingPost employees.

Lee also said in her post that SingPost is in need of postmen, and she included the details of what the job requires.

They are looking for postmen in our area- the job details are in these photos.”

Unfortunately, netizens did not take too kindly to Lee’s SingPost visit, even drawing parallels between her performance and the postal service’s.
