Singapore – Aside from doing their jobs dutifully, the Singapore Police Force (SPF) has been busy recording their Christmas wishes for everyone which took shape in a music video.
Posted on the Facebook page of the SPF on Christmas Eve, the music video proves that the officers serving the country in keeping it safe is not only good at their specializations but also in showcasing their other musical talents. The video has gone viral and now has over 163k views and 2,900 shares.
The music video starts out with a line from “We Wish you a Merry Christmas” then breaks off to a slow pop-reggae-style rendition of Auld Lang Syne which effectively gives the song a modern and fresh twist. The music transitions to a quicker pace featuring brass instruments and drums. One can see the wacky and fun side of the officers who are dancing in their uniforms. A nice touch was the ending where the music cuts and was replaced with the officers in position while clapping their hands and stomping their feet in rhythm to the beat.
The endeavour was clearly a hit with the online community with everyone sending their Christmas and New Year’s wishes to the SPF as well as commenting on the talent of the individuals who had a part in the music video production.
Netizen Stephen Ng congratulated the SPF and also showed his gratitude for not forgetting the country’s ordinary citizens even though they have jam-packed schedules and workloads.
Veronica Tay sends her love to the organization and wittily includes a “work hard, play hard” version in her comment.
