In another Facebook post, Chief of political party People’s Voice, Lim Tean, issued another challenge to Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, People Action Party’s (PAP) new first assistant secretary-general Heng Swee Keat, Heng’s deputy and the party’s second assistant secretary-general Chan Chun Sing and the Minister for National Development and Second Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong.

Mr Lim wrote, “I have repeatedly challenged the PAP leaders to a debate on the HDB issue which most Singaporeans are unhappy with. They have not accepted my challenge. I am renewing my call for a debate and this time I want the debate to cover the following issues which concern Singaporeans;

a) HDB
b) CPF
c) Ministerial Salaries”.

He also added that, “they should relish a debate and not duck a challenge. I am willing to take all of them on at the same time”.

People’s Voice Chief also demanded “equal speaking time” for everyone during the debate and said that the debate would allow Singaporeans to form their own opinions on the issues at hand based on the various perspectives presented.

Mr Lim’s post received almost 300 reactions and over 50 comments.

This is not the first time that Mr Lim has issued a challenge to the leaders of the PAP.

Previously, in a Facebook post on Friday, September 7, Lim Tean said, “Wouldn’t a live televised debate to get to the bottom of this issue be a good idea? Clearing the issue and defining our status as owners or tenants once and for all?”

He added, “I suggest 4 ministers to debate with me, Lawrence Wong, Lee Hsien Loong, Indranee Raja and Kwah Boon Wan.”

In his post, he also shared a poll asking if a televised debate would be a good idea. 95 per cent of the 4,100 people who voted did indeed agree.
