SAF full-time national serviceman found hanged at Sembawang Air Base

A Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) Full-time National Serviceman was found hanging from a rope in his office in Sembawang Air Base this morning at 8.22am. The NSF was serving as a transport operator from 706 Squadron.

Both the Singapore Police Force and the Singapore Civil Defence Force were activated by the NSF’s unit. An SAF medical officer pronounced the NSF dead at the scene minutes later, at 8.31am.

In a statement on its website, the Ministry of Defence conveyed its condolences and said that the SAF is assisting the late serviceman family. Police investigations are ongoing.
