A woman in Singapore surprised her former junior college teacher for Teacher’s Day and recreated a photo they had that was 27 years apart.

Teacher’s Day was celebrated on Sep 1, 2022, and Superhost winner Charlyn Lin, 44, decided it was a great way to reconnect with her teacher, Mrs Yee, who is now the principal of Kuo Chuan Presbyterian Primary School.

“This year, she received her 30 years long service award as an educator,” said Ms Lin, expressing her admiration toward Mrs Yee.

She shared that her then Math teacher in Yishun Junior College became the Vice Principal in Northbrooks Secondary School before taking her current position as a principal.

Ms Lin watched Mrs Yee perform for other teachers, having chosen the song and written the lyrics.

“Together with her two VPs and a Year head, they put up a great performance that made the crowd laugh so hard.”

Perhaps the best part of being a teacher is the long-lasting bond created with students, and it was clear that Mrs Yee was well-loved by her students.

“When we were walking to her office from the hall, many children came forward to greet her, all with big smiles, sending her well wishes, giving her handwritten cards and saying goodbyes to her. She stopped and spoke to each of them with heart,” said Ms Lin.

It appears that many also couldn’t forget Mrs Yee. “She is the best math teacher I ever had. She is so strict yet so patient with us all,” commented Instagram user @weioflife.

How Mrs Yee looked also shocked netizens because it was as if she hadn’t aged a day.

“The teacher looks like a student!” said a netizen. “Oh, good lord! She never aged! Still looking like when so was 18! Bless her!” added Instagram user @grace_ang.

A photo of the two ladies taken on Aug 31, 1995, proved what everyone was talking about.

“Wah, she’s a gem. She should still be a P(rincipal) for the next 20 years because she’s such an inspiration,” noted Instagram user @grace_ang./TISG
