Yang Bao Bei lost 5-6 kilograms after contracting Covid-19

Kuala Lumpur — Controversial Malaysian influencer and YouTuber Yang Bao Bei has had an eventful year.

Yang tried to commit suicide in April after it was found out that she had been scamming people. Fortunately, she was able to turn her life around and has been healing from the incident. Yang’s YouTube channel has been silent for two months now, at least until Sept 16. She said that her silence was due to the fact that she and her 64-year-old mother had been diagnosed with COVID-19.

The YouTuber was still struggling with depression two months ago. To cheer her up, she got a new pet dog named BB. Despite everything, Yang was diagnosed with the deadly virus. She found it to be puzzling as she had been very careful with SOPs and her hygiene. The symptoms came slowly. It began with a headache followed by a fever. The symptoms persisted even after Yang took Panadol, as reported by Hype.my.

On the third day she realised something was wrong when her mother started showing symptoms too. Yang and her mother then took a PCR test which confirmed that they had contracted the virus. Both mother and daughter started their home quarantine. Yang suspects that she was infected after using the apartment’s elevator.

According to her, there were four or five others who were also diagnosed in the complex at the time. “I had severe symptoms such as throat inflammation, vomiting and diarrhoea,” she shared. “I passed out for about 20-30 hours and I also lost 5-6 kilograms.”

Yang and her mother’s latest results declared them free of the virus. Nevertheless, the YouTuber’s voice is still hoarse. After being diagnosed with COVID, Yang said that she had stopped taking her antidepressants.

Netizens were pleased to see her doing much better. They cheered Yang on and wished her well, saying “I wish you all safety in the coming days.” They also advised Yang to take care of her health. Netizens reminded Yang that they were eagerly watching and waiting to see the change in her lifestyle, after her fiasco earlier this year.
