Ya Hui, a 35-year-old Singaporean actress, had a long and restful holiday as she spent time away from her for 6 months.

In an interview with Lianhe Zaobao, a Singaporean newspaper,  she had mentioned that she prepared four different trips with some of her various friends for the reason that she simply wanted to get away with work.

As a self-proclaimed workaholic, the actress had initially thought that these planned trips would be unsettling because it would cause halts and delays on her usual busy working schedule. Surprisingly, she seemed okay and not bothered by spending time off work to relax and rest.

Ya Hui said that as she traveled from one country to another, the year passed by just like a “blink of an eye”. The first few months of traveling were quick – she still attended acting classes but at the same time set dates with friends to bond and chat.

The 35-year-old went on a short trip to Malaysia in May 2022, and eventually visited Australia in August 2022 with Chen Liping – an actress as well. They were together for 3 weeks.

Although Ya Hui had agreed to work and shoot for a variety show during her travels and accepted client-based work, she had not acted in a drama or prepared for a specific acting role.

In Australia, the actress had a meaningful conversation with Singaporeans who were residing there to work and realized how happy their lives were despite how busy it can be. Now, she makes it a point to remind herself that when under pressure, her happiness is way more important.

I used to be so busy with work that I wouldn’t go out with friends during the periods when I was filming, but now I’ll be sure to maintain focus while working, but also taking care of my schedule and finding time to catch up with friends.” she exclaimed as one of her learned insights from her travels.

Her most memorable trip was her trip to Vietnam, where it left a great impact on her life. She climbed the Fansipan – known to be the highest mountain in the country.

At first, she felt afraid of climbing the mountain. She had doubts that she might not be able to make it to the top, but she pursued and learned a lot from the experience.

“As long as we believe in ourselves and take the first step, your perspective of the world around you will change.” she stated.

She also shared a photo of the sky on top of Fansipan.

“A sky filled with stars, a heart filled with determination.” she added.
