A woman’s rather harsh comments towards a Chee Cheong Fun (rice rolls) seller were circulated online, going viral. As per the screenshots of the conversation, the two were talking on Tantan, a Chinese online dating app.
The screenshots were shared anonymously on Facebook. The man introduced himself as a hawker selling food. When the woman asked what it is he was selling, he said that he sold desserts and Chee Cheong Fun. The woman on the other hand said that she worked as a beautician.
When the man asked if the woman had a boyfriend, she said: “I don’t have a boyfriend. If I did, I wouldn’t be online getting to know people”. The man seemed surprised that the woman was single and asked her to find one (boyfriend), or “give a chance to single man… like me”, he added.
Responding, the woman said that she will give chances to single men but added that she was picky when it came to looking for a boyfriend. When the man asked why she thought she was picky, the woman replied: “I’m looking for a boyfriend with the intention to get married, I don’t want to find someone with no prospects, like lorry drivers, Grab [drivers], and hawkers, that kind. I don’t want both of us to have no future in life”.Â
Telling the man that they were to remain as just-friends, she added: “I really can’t imagine going through an entire month with you worrying (about money). I hope you will find someone in the future”.
The comments were not at all sympathetic towards the woman.
