Another “car blocking woman” has appeared on the internet. A video of a woman having a fierce quarrel with a Mercedes-Benz male driver at the entrance of Geylang alley has gone viral on the internet.

A video uploaded on the Singapore Incidents Facebook page yesterday afternoon (9th Aug) showed a woman in a grey dress first pointing at the driver and yelling at the driver who was just next to her, and the driver also shouted back. The woman then stepped forward and continued to scold the driver.

The video showed the woman yelling at the driver in Chinese, “I have a problem with my head?” The driver stood his ground, gestured in the air, and shouted to the woman before getting in the car. “This is Singapore, not China, not China!” He said before getting into the car.

The woman then walked to the back of the car, took the phone from another woman and started to make a call. Seeing the driver closing the door, she walked to the front of the car to block the car with her body, and said on the phone, “Someone hit me, come quickly!”

Ignoring her actions, the driver started the engine, slowly pushed forward with the front of the car, and “pushed” her until she was unsteady and gave way, before driving away.

Police later confirmed that the incident occurred at Lorong 25 Geylang at 11.40am yesterday. A 40-year-old woman was sent to the hospital due to dizziness with no visible injuries on her body. A 34-year-old man is assisting police with their investigation.

The video has been shared over 460 times, with over 230 comments. Some Facebook users said that the woman’s physical blocking of the car was stupid, while others said: “Fortunately, the driver did not back up the car frantically and knocked her down at high speed (forward).”

A few Facebook users also condemned the driver’s actions. “Whatever the argument may be, the driver needs to be arrested and have his license suspended for pushing someone away with his car.”

Last month, a video of a woman singlehandedly trying to block off a vehicle with her body along a stretch of road on the Malaysian side of the highway went viral.
