A video of a man abusing a few free-range chickens made its way around the Internet, going viral. In the video, the man could be seen going after the chickens, only to kick them, stomp on them and even hit them with his slipper.

The minute-long clip was shared on popular Facebook page Singapore Animal Sightings on Sunday (May 22). According to the caption, by a netizen who goes by the name of Wendy Leong, the incident happened at her friend’s HDB block at the carpark of Hougang Avenue 3, at about 5.37 pm. In her post, Ms Leong wrote that the video was not hers, and she added that she was not present at the incident either.

 

At the beginning of the clip, two men can be seen looking at the chickens, however, just one decided to make his way onto the grass patch and follow them. The man, clad in shorts, stood by and watched the chickens for a few seconds before pursuing the chickens. When he came close enough, he could be seen stomping on two of the chickens. In the video, the birds could be heard clucking.

As they scattered, he could be seen kicking them. He then took off his slipper and threw it at the chickens. He repeated this action four times before walking off. The birds could just be seen running around the grass patch. The other man who appeared at the beginning of the video did not appear to stop the incident in any way.

Within a few days, the video garnered almost 700 reactions and 1,300 shares, with many netizens commenting that action needed to be taken against the man.
