Two noodle vendors fight over a rat; one claims she was assaulted and called the police

SINGAPORE: A popular noodle stall owner witnessed how a rat scurried into his stall and allegedly claimed that it came from the other noodle stall beside him. When he confronted the female vendor of the other stall and patted her while talking to her, the situation escalated into a police call.

According to Shin Min Daily News, a concerned citizen claimed that the male vendor “assaulted” the female vendor. Reporters who were at the scene found several police officers at the incident. During the visit, the female owner was talking to the police, while the male vendor was cooking noodles at his stall.

In an interview, the male vendor admitted that when he and his wife were opening their stall in the morning, a rat suddenly ran towards their stall and even past his wife’s feet. The man then claimed that the rat came from his neighbouring stall.

“I’ve seen cockroaches and rats before, so I’m worried about hygiene. I kindly told her to be careful, but she wouldn’t admit the rat came from her stall and kept muttering to herself,” the male vendor remarked.

Due to the constant muttering and nagging of the female vendor, the male vendor went over to her stall and patted her. He explained that he did not hit her hard, given that the 52-year-old woman claimed that she was beaten.

“I didn’t hit her hard. If I had, would she still be standing there?” the male vendor claimed.

As per the female vendor’s complaint, she stated that she was washing her dishes when the male vendor suddenly hit her hard on the back, causing her to lose her balance and fall forward.

“Luckily, the sink stopped me from falling,” the female vendor said.

The female vendor added, “I think we can talk things out calmly. How could you resort to violence?”

Rats found in food stalls

In similar news, a customer recently reported that she saw a rat as they were eating at a noodle shop very early in the morning. The diner admitted that the rat crawled into the container of the noodle sauce on the countertop.
