‘There is virtually no value in being a male,’ writes netizen who says they’re considering transitioning

Singapore—A netizen laments being born a man, and declares that he is “now waiting to just execute”  his final plans to transition.

In an anonymous post on the NUS Whispers Facebook page on Feb 8, the netizen  declares that he has “come to the point of giving up being a man”  and posits tthat his fortunes would change if he were not a man.

The writer insists that men face difficulties today, because certain jobs, such as tutoring, are for women only. “If I were to switch gender maybe I will have a better luck,”  he writes.

Women treat men like “sickos”, he says, arguing that he’s come to this conclusion after being treated differently when dressing as a female  and experiencing that women  no longer kept their distance.

“They had close proximity and did not keep much distance. That same day I dressed out, I went to a restaurant and the waiter pulled out a seat for me. When the day was done I made my way home tired. A man offered me his seat. Now I realise that my life is miserable because I am male.”

Men, complains this netizen, are treated with suspicion even when they say hello to a child. The law treats them as potential sex criminals when they  are accused. “I find that there is virtually no value in being a male,“ he adds.

As men, they need to move away from women and not end up being accused of getting too close to a woman,

“Being a man I have to be sensitive to my surroundings. It adds extra stress in the brain. I remember how easy it was when I dressed out. Men gave me way! I didnt have to care much!,” the poster wrote, adding, “I have no more strength. Might as well give up and join them and be a woman. If you cant win them then join them is a phrase right?”

The netizen, who says he is married, writes that his wife might wake up one day and find him gone.

“I will be in Thailand in an operating theatre – ready to be processed into a man made female according to customised specification. I have given up being male. I am now waiting to just execute my final plans to tranform. I obtained approval letters from two online dud psychiatrists in the US and the surgeon in Pattaya has already agreed to perform the surgery for THB350,000.”

Commenters, many of whom said they could relate to the man’s experiences, expressed their sympathy.

One netizen, however, wished the poster the best as they go through their transition.
