SINGAPORE: One eatery has certainly gotten creative in relation to the political scandal that rocked the country in the past few days by inviting former House Speaker Tan Chuan Jin and former Member of Parliament Cheng Li Hui, who both resigned on Monday (July 17), to “enjoy a bowl of hearty ramen and talk things out.”

In Instagram and Facebook posts on the same day that appear to serve as a promotion for Takagi Ramen, the eatery issued a voucher to Mr Tan and Ms Cheng for two orders of ramen of their choice, valid until November 23, 2025.

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong’s Instagram account was tagged in the post, although Mr Tan and Ms Cheng, appear to have taken down their Facebook accounts.

“We understand that your boss @leehsienloong already advised you guys twice to break up but you guys didn’t.

Let us help you, here is an e-voucher to the both of you to enjoy a bowl of hearty ramen and talk things out.

We hope Takagi Ramen can be the place where the two of you meet to end things once and for all and start spending time with your loved ones who felt hurt by this.

Let’s make Marine Parade and Tampines great again!” reads the social media post.

Many netizens commenting on the post applauded its creativity.

“Takagi ramen marketing team is unhinged and I love it,” wrote one.

“REALLY UNHINGED,” another agreed.

“This is the kind of energy I want to see,” chimed in another.

“You guys rock!!!” wrote one.

“Support Takagi Ramen! Nice marketing!” one agreed.

For this ramen house, “love” appears to be the main ingredient.

In a comment, however, Takagi Ramen issued a caveat “on a more serious note.”
