MALAYSIA: According to CNA, Malaysian police have confirmed that the driver who hit and killed actor Shaun Chen’s dad has finally turned himself in. You know, Shaun, who’s in “Emerald Hill’ right now, shared this really sad news on social media a couple of days ago. He said his 84-year-old father was on his way home on his motorcycle when he was hit by a car, and the driver just took off.

Shaun wanted the driver to apologise
Can you imagine? His dad was left there, badly injured. Shaun was obviously devastated, posting about how his father was declared brain-dead at the hospital and then, tragically, passed away. All he wanted was for the driver to apologise. He wrote, “I hope you can say sorry to my father. He didn’t know you. I don’t understand why this happened to him, but I just want you to apologise.” It’s just awful.
The police in Jelebu, Negeri Sembilan, said that the 62-year-old driver came forward on the same day. Apparently, it happened around 10:30 a.m. on March 28, on that road between Seremban and Simpang Pertang. It was a Proton Iswara that hit his dad’s Honda motorcycle. Sadly, his dad died at the hospital a few hours later.
And, get this, the guy went to the police later that afternoon to report it. Thankfully, they did a urine test, and he was clean.
Hope to improve response times in the future
At his dad’s funeral wake, Shaun spoke about how long it took for the ambulance to get there. He said his dad was lying on the road for half an hour before they even arrived, and then it was another hour before they reached the hospital. He’s really hoping they can improve response times in the future.
The funeral and cremation were held on Tuesday. It’s just such a sad situation.
